Overview

The Logs In Trigger initiates actions within a Groundhogg flow when a user logs into your WordPress site. This trigger is useful for automating tasks based on user login activity, allowing you to engage with users at a critical interaction point.

Logs In
Extension Required!

The Logs In Trigger is available with the Advanced Features addon. It can be purchased separately or as part of the Agency, Pro or Plus Plans.

When to Use

Use the Logs In Trigger when you want to automate actions following a user’s login event, such as sending a welcome email, applying a tag, or tracking user engagement. It’s ideal for scenarios where login activity signals an opportunity for further interaction or data collection.

How It Works

When a user logs into your WordPress site, the Logs In Trigger detects this event and activates the associated flow. You can configure the trigger to run based on specific conditions, such as the number of logins or any login event. The trigger integrates with Groundhogg’s flow system to execute subsequent actions like sending emails, updating contact records, or assigning tags.

Logs In Settings

Setup Instructions

  1. Add the Trigger: In your Groundhogg flow editor, drag and drop the “Logs In” Trigger into the flow on the left.
  2. Configure Settings:
    • Run when a user logs in: Choose “Any time” to trigger on every login or “Number of times” to specify a login count.
  3. Manage Trigger: Hover over the trigger to copy or delete it as needed.
  4. Save Changes: Click “Save” to apply the settings and activate the trigger.

Example Use Case

A membership site wants to re-engage users who log in after a period of inactivity. By setting up a Logs In Trigger in a Groundhogg flow, the site applies a “Recent Login” tag to the user’s contact record upon login. This tag triggers a follow-up email campaign offering exclusive content, encouraging further interaction and boosting user retention.

FAQs / Troubleshooting

Q: Why isn’t the trigger firing when a user logs in?

A: Ensure the Advanced Features add-on is installed and activated. Verify that the trigger settings (e.g., “Any time” or “Number of times”) match the intended use case. Check the flow’s status to confirm it’s active.

Q: Can I use this trigger without the Advanced Features add-on?

A: No, the Logs In Trigger requires the Advanced Features add-on, available separately or with Agency, Pro, or Plus Plans.

Q: How can I track the trigger’s performance?

A: Enable the “Track Conversion” option in the trigger settings to view metrics in the funnel report.

Q: What happens if a user logs in multiple times?

A: If set to “Any time,” the trigger activates on every login. If set to “Number of times,” it triggers only when the specified login count is reached.
