Tag Removed

Overview

The Tag Removed Trigger in Groundhogg initiates specific actions within a flow when one or more tags are removed from a contact. This trigger is essential for automating responses to changes in a contact’s tag status, enabling dynamic and targeted marketing strategies.

Tag Removed

When to Use

Use the Tag Removed Trigger when you want to automate actions based on the removal of specific tags from a contact. This is particularly useful for scenarios such as re-engaging contacts who no longer qualify for a specific campaign, updating contact records, or triggering follow-up actions when a contact’s status changes.

How It Works

When a tag is removed from a contact, the Tag Removed Trigger evaluates the conditions set in the flow. You can configure it to activate when Any or All of the specified tags are removed. Once triggered, the flow proceeds with the defined actions, such as sending emails, updating contact information, or adding new tags. The trigger also supports tracking conversion metrics for flow reports.

Setup Instructions

  1. Add the Trigger: Drag and drop the Tag Removed Trigger into the flow editor on the left side of the Groundhogg interface.
  2. Configure Settings:
    • Run when: Select whether the trigger should activate when Any or All of the specified tags are removed.
    • Add the tags you want to monitor for removal.
  3. Save Changes: Click Save to apply the settings and ensure the trigger is active.

Example Use Case

A fitness coaching business uses Groundhogg to manage client subscriptions. When a client cancels their premium membership, the “Premium Member” tag is removed from their contact profile. The Tag Removed Trigger detects this change and initiates a flow that sends a personalized email offering a discounted re-enrollment plan and adds the contact to a re-engagement campaign. This automated response helps the business retain clients by promptly addressing their change in status.

FAQs / Troubleshooting

Q: Can I track how many contacts pass through this trigger?
A: Yes, enable conversion metric tracking in the trigger settings to monitor its performance in the flow report.

Q: Why isn’t the trigger activating when a tag is removed?
A: Verify that the correct tags are selected and the “Run when” condition (Any or All) matches your intent. Also, ensure the flow is active and saved.

Q: Can I use this trigger to start multiple flows?
A: Yes, multiple flows can include the Tag Removed Trigger for the same tags, allowing different actions based on the same tag removal event.
