Send Email & SMS With Groundhogg!

Can’t or don’t want to send email with your hosting provider? Don’t have an SMTP? You can use Groundhogg to send your marketing emails and text messages.

How does it work?

Whenever a text message or email is sent from your site, it gets sent to us! Once we receive it we’ll deduct 1 credit from your account and then we send it through our partnership with AWS so that it reaches your customer in a timely fashion with the highest chance of landing in their main inbox.

How many credits is an email/sms worth?

Both emails and text messages are simply worth 1 credit. Whenever we receive one or the other we will deduct 1 credit from your account.

How do I get started?

Getting started is easy and takes only a few minutes. Plus after you get setup your first 1000 credits are on us!

Step 1. Navigate to your account.

Login to your account and click on the tab “Email Service.” You will see two links and a quick explanation.

Step 2. Click On “Manage Your Domains.”

Click on the link which says “Manage Your Domains.” You will be brought to a special page where you will be able to manage and authenticate your domains.

Step 3. Add Your domain

Type in your website URL click “Add Domain.” Be patient as validation may take a few seconds.

Step 4. Copy And Set Your DNS Records.

Once your domain has been added it must be validated. Follow the instructions to add the appropriate DNS records to your site’s DNS. Once complete you can click the “Verify Domain” button to see if they have fully propagated.

Step 5. Copy Your API Key.

Once your domain has been properly authenticated you can copy your API key which will allow you to send email through our system. Paste the key in the settings area in Groundhogg as per the instructions.

Step 6. Enable sending email with Groundhogg!

Your almost done now, go to your Groundhogg settings in your site and navigate to “Email”. Paste the key which we provided you and then you’re done!

What happens if I run out of credits?

If you run out of credits you’ll be sent an email letting you know, and your emails will be sent with whatever default email service you have in your WordPress.

Can I have more than 5 domains?

Yes, but you must contact us before at that time to add them.

Can I get a refund if I decide I don’t want to use this service?

You can receive a refund within 30 Days & within the first 1000 credits used.

If you use more than 1000 credits you will not receive a refund even if you are within the 30 day period.

Can user’s reply to text messages?

Text messaging is currently only one way, so they are best used for simple notifications only.

What kind of authentication do you support?

We support both DKIM and SPF domain validation methods for sending email.

What does AWS backed mean?

We use Amazon Web Services to send email. That way you have both AWS and Groundhogg to look out for your deliverability score.

Is this a monthly/yearly charge?

No, our email service is pay as you go. So you only pay for what you use. Once you run out of credits Groundhogg will fall back on your site’s default service.

How many credits per email?

1 Email/Text Message is equal to 1 Credit. Simple!

Are credits transferable?

No, you cannot transfer credits between accounts.
